As for one who turns away from the remembrance of the Gracious God, We appoint for him a devil, who will become his intimate companion. 36 and they bar them from the Way, though they themselves think that they are guided. 37 Until when he comes before Us he will say (to the devil): "Would to God there was a distance of the East and West between you and me, for you were an evil companion!" 38 And since you were unjust, it will not profit you this day that you are sharers in the chastisement. 39 Can you (O Muhammad SAW) make the deaf to hear, or can you guide the blind or him who is in manifest error? 40 And if We take thee away, We shall surely take vengeance on them. 41 or We show you a part of that which We have promised them, for indeed We have power over them. 42 Hold thou fast wherefore to that which is revealed unto thee: verily thou art on the straight path. 43 And verily it is an admonition unto thee and thy people; and presently ye will be questioned. 44 Ask Our Messengers whom We sent before you if We have ever made gods, other than the Merciful, to be worshipped. 45
