Q (Qaaf)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Qaf. CONSIDER this sublime Qur'an! 1 But nay - they deem it strange that a warner should have come unto them from their own midst; and so these deniers of the truth are saying, "A strange thing is this! 2 When we are dead and have become dust (shall we be brought back again)? That would be a far return! 3 We know what the earth diminishes of them; with Us is a book recording. 4 Rather, they belied the truth when it came to them, and now they are in a state of confusion. 5 Have they not looked at the sky above them, how We have fashioned and adorned it, and it has no flaw? 6 And the earth have We spread out, and have flung firm hills therein, and have caused of every lovely kind to grow thereon, 7 A perception and an understanding, for every bondman who inclines. 8 and We have sent down from the sky blessed water with which We have brought forth gardens and grain to be harvested, 9 And tall (and stately) palm-trees, with shoots of fruit-stalks, piled one over another;- 10 As a provision for men, and enlivened a region that was dead. Even thus will be the life after death. 11 The folk of Noah denied (the truth) before them, and (so did) the dwellers at Ar-Rass and (the tribe of) Thamud, 12 The 'Ad, Pharaoh, the brethren of Lut, 13 dwellers of the forest, and the people of Tubba had all rejected the Prophets. Thus, they became subject to Our torment. 14 Were We then worn out by the first creation? Yet they are in doubt about a second creation. 15
