The Town (Al-Balad)
20 verses, revealed in Mecca after Q (Qaaf) before The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ No! I swear by this land, 1 And thou art an indweller of this city - 2 And the begetter and whom he begot. 3 Assuredly We have created man in trouble. 4 Thinks he that none can overcome him? 5 He says, "I have spent wealth in abundance." 6 What, does he think none has seen him? 7 Have We not given him two eyes, 8 And a tongue and two lips, 9 And have shown him the two ways? 10 Yet he has not assaulted the steep; 11 And what will explain to thee the path that is steep?- 12 It is freeing someone's neck from slavery; 13 Or to feed in times of famine 14 To an orphan near of kin. 15 Or a needy person in misery 16 And to be of those who believe and exhort one another to perseverance and exhort one another to pity. 17 Such are the Companions of the Right Hand. 18 whereas those who are bent on denying the truth of Our messages - they are such as have lost themselves in evil, 19 Over them will be fire closed in. 20
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
