The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 he was created of gushing water 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 The Day when all the secrets (deeds, prayers, fasting, etc.) will be examined (as to their truth). 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 They are devising guile, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
Almighty Allah's Truth.
