The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the night when it covers the day, 1 And by the day as it appears in brightness; 2 And Him Who hath created male and female, 3 you strive in various ways. 4 Then as for him who gives away and guards (against evil), 5 And affirms goodness, 6 We will ease him toward ease. 7 But he who is greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient. 8 And denies the best [reward], 9 Unto him therefore We shall Indeed make easy the path to hardship. 10 his wealth shall not avail him when he perishes. 11 Indeed, Guidance is Ours, 12 And verily unto Us (belong) the End and the Beginning. 13 and so I warn you of the raging fire 14 whereat none but the most wretched shall be roasted, 15 who rejected the Truth, calling it falsehood and turned his back on it. 16 One who fears God shall be kept away from it -- 17 Who giveth his wealth that he may grow (in goodness). 18 And no one has done a favour to him, for which he should be compensated. 19 But only seeking the Countenance of his Lord the Most High. 20 And he is going to be satisfied. 21
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
