Al-Aadeyaat

The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

(I swear) by the snorting chargers (of the warriors), whose hoofs strike against the rocks 1 by the strikers of fire, 2 by the dawnraiders, 3 and raising clouds of dust, 4 And penetrate forthwith into the midst (of the foe) en masse;- 5 Truly man is, to his Lord, ungrateful; 6 And indeed he himself is a witness to it. 7 for, verily, to the love of wealth is he most ardently devoted. 8 ۞ Knoweth he not - when that which is in the graves shall be ransacked? 9 And the hearts' contents shall be brought into the open? 10 Verily their Lord on that Day will be of them Aware. 11
