The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! 1 Arise, and warn, 2 Glorify your Lord, 3 And thy garments keep free from stain! 4 and shun uncleanness, 5 And do not through giving seek thyself to gain, 6 For the sake of thy Lord, be patient! 7 For when the trumpet shall sound, 8 That will be- that Day - a Day of Distress,- 9 Far from easy for the disbelievers. 10 Leave Me with him whom I created alone, 11 and whom I have granted abundant wealth 12 And children to be by his side! 13 and made all things smooth for him; 14 Yet he wants that I should give him more. 15 Never will he receive more. He has been hostile to Our revelations. 16 I shall inflict on him hardship, 17 Surely he reflected and guessed, 18 death seized him, how was his determining! 19 yea, he destroys himself, the way he meditates! 20 Then he looked round; 21 Then frowned he and scowled. 22 then he retreated and waxed proud, 23 And said, "This is not but magic imitated [from others]. 24 This is nothing but the word of mortal man!" 25 I shall surely roast him in Sakar; 26 And what will explain to thee what Hell-Fire is? 27 It leaves and spares no one and nothing. 28 it scorches (even) the skin. 29 and it has nineteen angelic keepers. 30 And We have set none but angels as Guardians of the Fire; and We have fixed their number only as a trial for Unbelievers,- in order that the People of the Book may arrive at certainty, and the Believers may increase in Faith,- and that no doubts may be left for the People of the Book and the Believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the Unbelievers may say, "What symbol doth Allah intend by this?" Thus doth Allah leave to stray whom He pleaseth, and guide whom He pleaseth: and none can know the forces of thy Lord, except He and this is no other than a warning to mankind. 31
