The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ These are verses of the Qur'an,-a book that makes (things) clear; 1 A guide (to the Right Path); and glad tidings for the believers [who believe in the Oneness of Allah (i.e. Islamic Monotheism)]. 2 who perform the prayer, and pay the alms, and have sure faith in the Hereafter. 3 Those who do not believe in the Hereafter – We have made their deeds seem good to them, so they are astray. 4 those are they whom an evil chastisement awaits, and they will be the greatest losers in the Hereafter. 5 But [as for thee, O believer,] verily, thou hast received this Qur'an out of the grace of One who is wise, all-knowing. 6 (Recount to them) when Moses said to his family: "I perceive something like fire: soon will I bring to you some information from there, or I will bring you a burning brand that you may warm yourselves." 7 Then when he came unto it, he was cried unto: Thus; Blest is whosoever is in the fire and whosoever is around it; and hallowed be Allah, the Lord of the Worlds. 8 Moses, it is I, Allah, the Almighty, the Wise. 9 Throw down your staff." But when he saw it moving like a snake, he turned and fled. "Moses, do not be afraid! The messengers need have no fear in My presence; 10 save him who has done evil, then; after evil, has changed into good; All-forgiving am I, All-compassionate. 11 Now put your hand inside your cloak next to your bosom and it will come out [shining] white, without any blemish. This will be one of the nine signs for Pharaoh and his people: for truly they are a rebellious people." 12 And when Our signs came as distinct proofs, they said: "This is only magic." 13 And they rejected those Signs in iniquity and arrogance, though their souls were convinced thereof: so see what was the end of those who acted corruptly! 14
