People of Hijr rejected the Messengers. 80 And We gave them Our Signs, but they were averse to them. 81 Out of the mountains did they hew (their) edifices, (feeling themselves) secure. 82 So the rumbling overtook them in the morning; 83 Then availed them not that which they had been earning. 84 And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them two but in truth; and the hour is most surely coming, so turn away with kindly forgiveness. 85 Indeed your Lord only is the Great Creator, the All Knowing. 86 (Muhammad), We have given you the seven most repeated (verses) and the great Quran. 87 Look not with your eyes ambitiously at what We have bestowed on certain classes of them (the disbelievers), nor grieve over them. And lower your wings for the believers (be courteous to the fellow-believers). 88 And proclaim, “Indeed I, yes I, am the clear Herald of Warning.” 89 Like as We sent down on the dividers 90 Those who made the Quran into shreds. 91 Them, by thy Lord, We shall question, every one, 92 for whatever they have done! 93 Preach what you have been commanded to and stay away from the pagans. 94 Truly! We will suffice you against the scoffers. 95 who assert that there are, side by side with God, other divine powers as well: for in time they will come to know [the truth]. 96 We are well aware that you are disheartened by what they say. 97 Exalt with the praise of your Lord and be one of those who prostrate. 98 and worship thy Sustainer till death comes to thee. 99
