(The tribe of) A'ad denied the messengers (of Allah). 123 Their brother Hud said to them, "Will you not fear God? 124 I am a trustworthy messenger for you: 125 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 126 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 127 "Do you build useless monuments on every mountain 128 "And do you get for yourselves palaces (fine buildings) as if you will live therein for ever. 129 When you assault, you assault like tyrants! 130 So fear God, and obey me; 131 And be careful of (your duty to) Him Who has given you abundance of what you know. 132 “He aided you with cattle and sons.” 133 and gardens, and springs: 134 Surely I fear for you the chastisement of a grievous day 135 They said: It is all one to us whether thou preachest or art not of those who preach; 136 your preaching is nothing but ancient legends and we shall not face any torment". 137 and we shall not be chastised.' 138 So they belied him, so We destroyed them. Surely, in that there is a sign; yet most of them do not believe. 139 And indeed your Lord only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 140

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
