The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Woe to those that deal in fraud,- 1 Those who, when they have to receive by measure from men, exact full measure, 2 But if they give by measure or by weight to them, they cause loss. 3 Do they not know that they are bound to be raised from the dead 4 (To be raised) for a Great Day? 5 the Day when all men shall stand before the Sustainer of all the worlds? 6 Nay, but the record of the vile is in Sijjin - 7 And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Sijjin is? 8 The record is a sealed text. 9 Woe, on that day, to those who have rejected God's revelations 10 Who deny the Day of Recompense. 11 And none gives the lie to it but every exceeder of limits, sinful one 12 Who, when thou readest unto him Our revelations, saith: (Mere) fables of the men of old. 13 Nay! But on their hearts is the Ran (covering of sins and evil deeds) which they used to earn. 14 By no means! Verily on that Day from their Lord they will be shut out. 15 then they shall roast in Hell. 16 Then it will be said [to them], "This is what you used to deny." 17 However, the records of the deeds of the virtuous ones will certainly be in Illiyin. 18 and what will make you understand what the 'Illiyyin is? -- 19 It is a (repository of) distinctly written record 20 which those angels closest to God will bear witness to. 21 Verily the virtuous shall be in Bliss; 22 On adorned couches, observing. 23 You will find in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They will be given to drink of pure wine, sealed. 25 The seal thereof will be Musk: And for this let those aspire, who have aspirations: 26 a wine tempered with the waters of Tasnim, 27 A spring whereof drink those nearest to Allah. 28 Verily those who have sinned were wont at those who had believed to laugh, 29 And, when they passed them, to wink at each other, 30 And when they went back to their people turned to make fun of them; 31 And when they saw them, they said: Most surely these are in error; 32 Yet they were not sent to be their guardians. 33 But on this Day the Believers will laugh at the Unbelievers: 34 On Thrones (of Dignity) they will command (a sight) (of all things). 35 Have the unbelievers been duly rewarded for their deeds? 36
