The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 arise, and warn! 2 And proclaim the Purity of your Lord. 3 And your garments do purify, 4 Pollution shun! 5 Do not give, thinking to gain greater 6 And be patient for the sake of your Lord (i.e. perform your duty to Allah)! 7 And [warn all men that] when the trumpet-call [of resurrection] is sounded, 8 That Day will be a difficult day 9 not of ease, for all who [now] deny the truth! 10 Leave Me and him whom I created alone, 11 whom I have endowed with abundant riches, 12 and children as [love's] witnesses, 13 And for whom I smoothed everything. 14 then he is eager that I should do more. 15 Never will he receive more. He has been hostile to Our revelations. 16 On him I shall impose a fearful doom. 17 For lo! he did consider; then he planned - 18 So let him be cursed! How he plotted! 19 Again accursed be he, how evilly did he decide! 20 Then looked he, 21 Then he frowned and he looked in a bad tempered way; 22 Then turned his back and waxed proud, 23 And said, “This is nothing but magic learnt from earlier men.” 24 This is not but the word of a human being." 25 I will drive him into Saqar. 26 What could make you conceive what hell-fire is? 27 It leaves naught nor does it spare aught. 28 Scorching the skin. 29 Over it are nineteen (guards). 30 We have appointed none but angels as the keepers of the Fire, and We have not made their number but as a trial for the unbelievers so that those who have been endowed with the Book will be convinced and the believers' faith will increase, and neither those who have been endowed with the Book nor the believers will fall into any doubt. As for those in whose hearts there is a sickness as well as the unbelievers, they will say: “What did Allah aim at by this strange parable?” Thus does Allah let whomsoever He pleases to go astray, and directs whomsoever He pleases to the Right Way. And none knows the hosts of your Lord but He. (And Hell has only been mentioned here) that people may take heed. 31
