Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 1 Some faces will on that Day be downcast, 2 troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past. 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 Given to drink of a spring fiercely boiling. 5 They shall have no food but of thorns, 6 which will neither fatten them nor satisfy them. 7 However, on that day the faces of other people will be happy. 8 well pleased with the result of their striving, 9 In a Garden on high, 10 Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 And chosen goblets. 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 And carpets spread around. 16 Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created? 17 and on the sky, how it is raised aloft, 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 You are not a watcher over them; 22 But if any turn away and reject Allah,- 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 Indeed, to Us is their return. 25 and verily, It is for Us to call them to account. 26
