The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 It is the piercing star - 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 So let man consider from what he is created. 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 and so am I: 16 Therefore give them some respite give them some time. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
