The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 and gently take it away; 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 And those who govern the event, 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 then he mustered 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
