He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man. 2 But what would make you perceive, [O Muhammad], that perhaps he might be purified 3 Or take heed and so the reminder might avail him? 4 For him who does not care, 5 To him do you address yourself. 6 What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah). 7 And to him who came to you eagerly 8 And hath fear, 9 From him you are distracted. 10 Nay, (do not do like this), indeed it (these Verses of this Quran) are an admonition, 11 So whoever wishes may remember it. 12 upon pages high-honoured, 13 Exalted (in dignity), kept pure and holy, 14 [Carried] by the hands of messenger-angels, 15 Noble and righteous. 16 Perish the human! How unthankful he is! 17 [Does man ever consider] out of what substance [God] creates him? 18 From a drop of liquid; He created him and then set several measures for him. 19 Then eased the way for him. 20 Then He causes him to die and be buried. 21 then, when He wills, He raises him. 22 Nay, but [man] has never yet fulfilled what He has enjoined upon him! 23 Then let mankind look at his food - 24 That We pour down the water, pouring (it) down in abundance, 25 Then split the earth in clefts 26 Thereby produced grain in it. 27 And grapes and clover plants (i.e. green fodder for the cattle), 28 And olive and palm trees 29 and dense-tree'd gardens, 30 and fruit and pastures, 31 (To be) a provision and benefit for you and your cattle. 32 At length, when there comes the Deafening Noise,- 33 on that Day each person will flee from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father, 35 And from his wife and sons. 36 on that Day every man among them will have enough concern of his own -- 37 (Many) faces on that day shall be bright, 38 laughing and joyous 39 And many will be dust-begrimed, 40 Veiled in darkness, 41 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked ones. 42
Almighty Allah's Truth.
