The people of Lot rejected the Messengers, branding them liars. 160 Recall, when their brother Lot said to them: "Have you no fear? 161 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 162 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 163 And I do not ask you any reward for it; my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 164 What! Of all creatures do ye come unto the males, 165 And leave ye your spouses your Lord hath created for you? Aye! ye are a people trespassing. 166 They said: "If you cease not. O Lout (Lot)! Verily, you will be one of those who are driven out!" 167 He said: "I am one of those who abhor your practice. 168 Lord, save me and my family from their deeds." 169 We therefore rescued him and his entire family. 170 Save an old woman among those who stayed behind. 171 Then We destroyed the rest of them, 172 And We rained on them a rain. So ill was the rain on those warned? 173 Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
