He it is who has made the earth easy to live upon: go about, then, in all its regions, and partake the sustenance which He provides: but [always bear in mind that] unto Him you shall be resurrected. 15 Do you feel secure that He who is in heaven will not cause the earth to swallow you, the while it rocks? 16 Or are you secure of those in the heaven that He should not send down upon you a punishment? Then shall you know how was My warning. 17 And indeed, [many of] those who lived aforetime did give the lie [to My warnings]: and how awesome was My rejection [of them]! 18 Have they, then, never beheld the birds above them, spreading their wings and drawing them in? None but the Most Gracious upholds them: for, verily, He keeps all things in His sight. 19 Or who is he that will be an army unto you to help you instead of the Beneficent? The disbelievers are in naught but illusion. 20 Who is he that can provide for you, should He withhold His provision? Aye! they persists in perverseness and aversion. 21 So is one who walks inverted upon his face more rightly guided, or one who walks upright on the Straight Path? 22 Say: "It is He who raised you and gave you ears and eyes and hearts. How little are the thanks you offer!" 23 Say, "It is He who has multiplied you throughout the earth, and to Him you will be gathered." 24 They ask, "When will this promise be fulfilled, if you are truthful?" 25 Say: "God alone has knowledge. My duty is only to warn you clearly." 26 Yet in the end, when they shall see that [fulfilment] close at hand, the faces of those who were bent on denying the truth will be stricken with grief; and they will be told, "This it is that you were [so derisively] calling for!" 27 (Muhammad), say, "Have you not considered that regardless whether God forgives me and my followers or grants us mercy, but who will protect the disbelievers from a painful torment? 28 Say: He is the Beneficent Allah, we believe in Him and on Him do we rely, so you shall come to know who it is that is in clear error. 29 Say, "Have you not thought that if your water was to dry up, who would bring you water from the spring?" 30
