Hizb 46

Jonah, too, was one of the Messengers. 139 When he fled on the laden ship, 140 and sailed away in a laden ship, wherein people cast lots. Because he lost, he was thrown into the water. 141 Then a (big) fish swallowed him and he had done an act worthy of blame. 142 Had he not been one of those who glorify Allah, 143 he would certainly have remained inside the fish till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ So We cast him, sick, on a barren shore, 145 and We caused a pumpkin tree to grow over him. 146 Then We sent him unto a hundred thousand, or more, 147 And they believed; so We permitted them to enjoy (their life) for a while. 148 Now ask thou them: are there for thy Lord daughters and for them sons? 149 Did We create the angels as females the while they witnessed?” 150 Then is it of their lying that they say: 151 " Allah has begotten," and indeed, they are liars. 152 “Has he chosen daughters instead of sons?” 153 What ails you that you judge in such a wise? 154 What, and will you not remember? 155 “Or do you have some clear proof?” 156 Then produce your writ, if ye are truthful. 157 They link Him with jinns by lineage, yet the jinns know they will be brought before Him. 158 Purity is to Allah from the matters they fabricate. 159 except the servants of God, sincere and devoted. 160 So you and your deities 161 You cannot tempt [anyone] away from Him 162 except those who are doomed to enter hell. 163 (Gabriel said to the Prophet): 'Each of us has a known place. 164 And verily we! we are ranged in ranks. 165 and we glorify God". 166 And they surely were wont to say: 167 Had we a reminder from those of yore, 168 "We should certainly have been Servants of Allah, sincere (and devoted)!" 169 But (now that the Quran has come) they disbelieve therein (i.e. in the Quran and in Prophet Muhammad SAW, and all that which he brought, the Divine Revelation), so they will come to know! 170 And Our word has already preceded for Our servants, the messengers, 171 That they would certainly be assisted, 172 And [that] indeed, Our soldiers will be those who overcome. 173 So turn away from them for a while. 174 and see, and soon they too shall see. 175 Do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 176 But then, once it alights upon them, hapless will be the awakening of those who were warned [to no avail]! 177 And turn thou aside from them for a season. 178 and see; soon they shall see! 179 Too glorious is your Lord, the Lord of power, for what they ascribe to Him. 180 Peace be on the Messengers. 181 And all the praise and thanks be to Allah, Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
