T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ TA HA. 1 We have not sent the Quran down to you to distress you, 2 only as reminder for those who have fear (of disobeying God). 3 A revelation from Him Who created the earth and the high heavens. 4 The Most Beneficent (Allah) Istawa (rose over) the (Mighty) Throne (in a manner that suits His Majesty). 5 To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on the earth, and all that is between them, and all that is under the soil. 6 Whether you speak out aloud (or in a low voice), He knows what is said secretly, and even that which is most hidden. 7 God: There is no god but He. To Him belong the attributes most beautiful. 8 Has the story of Moses come to you? 9 When he saw a fire and said to his family, "Stay here; indeed, I have perceived a fire; perhaps I can bring you a torch or find at the fire some guidance." 10 And when he came to it (the fire), he was called by name: "O Musa (Moses)! 11 I am thy Lord; put off thy shoes; thou art in the holy valley, Towa. 12 "And I have chosen you. So listen to that which is inspired to you. 13 I am God, and there is no god but I, so serve Me, and observe acts of prayer to remember Me. 14 The Hour is coming. I almost conceal it, so that every soul will be recompensed for its labors. 15 Do not let those who disbelieve in it and follow their desires bar you from it, or you will perish. 16 The Lord asked, "Moses, what is in your right hand?" 17 He replied, "It is my staff. I lean on it, bring down leaves for my sheep with it and I need it for other reasons. 18 God said, "Moses, cast it down." 19 So he cast it down, and lo! it was a serpent running along. 20 He said: Grasp it and fear not. We shall return it to its former state. 21 And press your hand to your side, it shall come out white without evil: another sign: 22 So We would show thee some of Our greatest signs. 23 Go to Pharaoh; he has transgressed all bounds." 24
