T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ TA HA. 1 We did not reveal the Qur'an to you to cause you distress; 2 but only as an exhortation for him who fears God; 3 Sent down by One Who created the earth and the lofty heavens. 4 The Beneficent God is dominant over the Throne (of the realm). 5 Whatever is in the heavens and the earth and in between them, belongs to Him, as whatever lies under the earth. 6 Whether you speak out aloud (or in a low voice), He knows what is said secretly, and even that which is most hidden. 7 God: There is no god but He. To Him belong the attributes most beautiful. 8 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 9 When he saw a fire, he said to his family: "Wait! Verily, I have seen a fire, perhaps I can bring you some burning brand therefrom, or find some guidance at the fire." 10 So when he came near the fire, it was announced, “O Moosa!” 11 I am thy Lord; put off thy shoes; thou art in the holy valley, Towa. 12 And I have chosen you, so listen to what is revealed: 13 Indeed, I am Allah. There is no deity except Me, so worship Me and establish prayer for My remembrance. 14 The Hour is coming; I would conceal it that every soul may be recompensed for its labours. 15 Therefore let not him who believes not in it and follows his low desires turn you away from it so that you should perish; 16 And what is this in your right hand, O Musa! 17 He answered: "It is my staff; I lean on it; and with it I beat down leaves for my sheep; and [many] other uses have I for it." 18 (Allah) said, "Throw it, O Moses!" 19 So he cast it down, and lo! it was a serpent running along. 20 'Take it, and do not fear' He said, 'We will restore it to its former state. 21 Now clasp thy hand to thy arm-pit; it shall come forth white, without evil. That is a second sign. 22 That We may shew thee of Our Signs the greatest. 23 And go to Pharaoh now for he has transgressed all bounds." 24
