Bring to mind Our servant Job who cried to his Lord, "Satan has afflicted me with distress and suffering." 41 'Stamp thy foot! This is a laving-place cool, and a drink.' 42 We gave him back his family and doubled their number as a blessing from Us and as a reminder to the people of understanding. 43 and, 'Take in thy hand a bundle of rushes, and strike therewith, and do not fail in thy oath.' Surely We found him a steadfast man. How excellent a servant he was! He was a penitent. 44 AND CALL to mind Our servants Abraham and Isaac and Jacob, [all of them] endowed with inner strength and vision: 45 Verily We! We distinguished them with a distinct quality: the remembrance of the Abode. 46 Lo! in Our sight they are verily of the elect, the excellent. 47 Recall Ismael, Elisha, and Dhulkifl (Ezekiel) who were all virtuous people. 48 This was a remembrance. An excellent retreat awaits the God-fearing 49 the Gardens of eternity with gates thrown wide open to them. 50 in which they will recline, and call for abundant fruit and drink therein. 51 ۞ having beside them well-matched mates of modest gaze." 52 This it is what you (Al-Muttaqun - the pious) are promised for the Day of Reckoning! 53 This is Our provision for you, never to end. 54 This (for the virtuous); but for the transgressors the evil destination, 55 They shall roast in (the Fire) of Gehenna, an evil cradling. 56 This is so! Then let them taste it, a boiling fluid and dirty wound discharges. 57 and other similar to it, joined together. 58 Here is an army rushing blindly with you. (Those who are already in the Fire say): No word of welcome for them. Lo! they will roast at the Fire. 59 They shall say: Nay! you-- no welcome to you: you did proffer it to us, so evil is the resting-place. 60 They will say, "Our Lord, whoever brought this upon us - increase for him double punishment in the Fire." 61 And they shall say: What is the matter with us that we do not see men whom we used to count among the vicious? 62 Took we them so unjustly for a butt of mockery, or are they deluding our eyes? 63 Verily all this is true. This is how the inmates of the Fire will dispute among themselves. 64
