The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Woe to the stinters who, 1 Those who, when they have to receive by measure from men, demand full measure, 2 but when they measure or weigh for others, they reduce! 3 Do they not think that they will be resurrected 4 On a mighty Day. 5 The day all mankind will stand before the Lord of all the worlds? 6 Nay! Truly, the Record (writing of the deeds) of the Fujjar (disbelievers, sinners, evil-doers and wicked) is (preserved) in Sijjin. 7 and what shall teach thee what is Sijjin? 8 A written record. 9 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies, 10 Those who deny the Day of Judgment 11 No one rejects it except the sinful transgressors 12 When Our communications are recited to him, he says: Stories of those of yore. 13 They will never have faith. In fact, their hearts are stained from their deeds. 14 Yes indeed – they will be deprived of seeing their Lord on that day. 15 Then indeed they have to enter hell. 16 Further, it will be said to them: "This is the (reality) which ye rejected as false! 17 Nay, verily the record of the Righteous is (preserved) in 'Illiyin. 18 And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Illiyun is? 19 It is a (repository of) distinctly written record 20 Witnessed by those who are honoured. 21 The righteous shall indeed be blissful, 22 On couches, gazing, 23 upon their faces thou wilt see the brightness of bliss. 24 They will be given pure wine to drink, which is kept preserved, sealed. 25 Its seal is upon musk; and for this should those who crave be eager. 26 for it is composed of all that is most exalting 27 a source [of bliss] whereof those who are drawn close unto God shall drink. 28 BEHOLD, those who have abandoned themselves to sin are wont to laugh at such as have attained to faith 29 And when they passed by them, they winked at one another. 30 and, on returning to their people, boast about what they had done. 31 and when they saw them they said, 'Lo, these men are astray!' 32 But they had not been sent as keepers over them! 33 But on this Day the believers will laugh at the unbelievers 34 On thrones, they will look. 35 The infidels have indeed been rewarded for that which they had been doing. 36
