▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ Nay, I swear by the setting of the stars -- 75 And that is indeed a mighty adjuration if ye but knew,- 76 it is surely a noble Koran 77 inscribed in a well-guarded Book, 78 which none but the pure [of heart] can touch: 79 a revelation from the Sustainer of all the worlds! 80 Then is it to this statement that you are indifferent 81 You live by calling it a lie. 82 Why, then, when the soul leaps up to the throat of the dying 83 and you are [at that moment] looking on [helplessly] -- 84 - And We are nearer unto him than ye are, but ye see not - 85 why, if you are not at Our disposal, 86 do you not bring back his soul, if you speak truly? 87 Then, if he (the dying person) be of the Muqarrabun (those brought near to Allah), 88 happiness [awaits him in the life to come,] and inner fulfillment, and a garden of bliss. 89 And if he is of those on the right, – 90 Then [the angels will say], "Peace for you; [you are] from the companions of the right." 91 But if he is of the deniers and the errants, 92 The welcome will be boiling water 93 And burning in Hell-Fire. 94 Verily, this is the Very Truth and Certainly. 95 So glorify with praises the Name of your Lord, the Most Great. 96

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
