Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Have you heard about the Overwhelming Event? 1 On that day (many) faces will be downcast, 2 Working [hard] and exhausted. 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 They will be given to drink from a boiling spring, 5 They will have no food except bitter thorn, 6 that will neither nourish nor satisfy their hunger. 7 (Other) faces on that day shall be happy, 8 Pleased with their striving,- 9 In an elevated garden, 10 Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. 11 Therein will be a flowing spring, 12 Therein will be Thrones (of dignity), raised on high, 13 and prepared goblets, 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted? 19 and how the earth is spread out? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 You are not a watcher over them; 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Surely to Us is their turning back, 25 And Ours their reckoning. 26
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
