(People), is your creation harder for God than that of the heavens, which He created, raised and established 27 High has He reared its vault and formed it in accordance with what it was meant to be; 28 He has made its nights dark and its days bright. 29 And after that, the earth: wide has He spread its expanse, 30 therefrom brought forth its waters and its pastures, 31 And the mountains hath He firmly fixed;- 32 an enjoyment for you and your herds. 33 But when there comes the greatest catastrophe (i.e. the Day of Recompense, etc.), 34 The Day when man will remember that for which he strove, 35 And hell will be made visible to all those who can see. 36 Then as for him who waxed exorbitant, 37 and preferred the life of this world, 38 Then surely the hell, that is the abode. 39 And as for him who dreaded standing before his Lord, and restrained his soul from lust, 40 shall dwell in Paradise. 41 (Muhammad), they ask you, "When will the Hour of Doom come?" 42 In what [position] are you that you should mention it? 43 Unto thy Lord is the final end of it. 44 You are only a warner for those who fear it. 45 On the Day they see it, they will feel as though they had stayed (in the grave) no more than one evening or one morning. 46
