This surely is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe: 192 The honest Spirit (Gabriel) brought it down 193 into your heart, so that you may be a warner, 194 In plain Arabic speech. 195 And verily, it (the Quran, and its revelation to Prophet Muhammad SAW) is (announced) in the Scriptures [i.e. the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] of former people. 196 Was it not a proof for them that the learned men of Israel knew about this? 197 Had We revealed it to a man of obscure tongue 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed. 199 Even so We have caused it to enter into the hearts of the sinners, 200 They will not believe in it to the extent that they see the painful punishment. 201 so that it will come upon them suddenly, while they are unaware, 202 Then they will say: are we to be respited? 203 Do they want to hasten Our punishment? 204 Seest thou? If We do let them enjoy (this life) for a few years, 205 And then cometh that which they were promised, 206 What shall that which they enjoyed avail them? 207 Never a city We destroyed, but it had warners 208 and reminded: for, never do We wrong [anyone]. 209 It was not the devils who brought down the Quran: 210 It would neither suit them nor would they be able (to produce it). 211 Truly, they are expelled from hearing. 212 So call not thou unto another god along with Allah, lest thou be of the doomed. 213 And warn thou thy clan, the nearest ones. 214 and be kind to your believing followers. 215 So if they do not obey you, then say, “Indeed I am unconcerned with what you do.” 216 And put thy trust in the Mighty, the Merciful. 217 Who sees you when you stand up. 218 and [sees] thy behaviour among those who prostrate themselves [before Him]: 219 Lo! He, only He, is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Shall I declare unto you upon whom the satans descend! 221 They descend on every guilty impostor. 222 The devils convey upon them what they heard, but most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets, only those who go astray follow them. 224 Do you not see how they wander aimlessly in every valley, 225 and preaching what they themselves never practice. 226 Save those that believe, and do righteous deeds, and remember God oft, and help themselves after being wronged; and those who do wrong shall surely know by what overturning they will be overturned. 227
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
