Hizb 46
< random >
And lo! Jonah verily was of those sent (to warn) 139 when he fled like a runaway slave onto a laden ship. 140 And then they cast lots, and he was the one who lost; 141 then the whale swallowed him down, and he blameworthy. 142 And were he not one of those who praise. 143 he would certainly have remained in its belly till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ We cast him out of the fish unto dry land and he was sick. 145 and We caused a gourd tree to grow over him. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand (folk) or more 147 and they believed, and We gave them enjoyment for awhile. 148 So ask them for a pronouncement -- Has thy Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Or created We the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Oh, verily, it is out of their own [inclination to] falsehood that some people assert, 151 "God has begotten (children)?" They are liars indeed! 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 What is amiss with you and your judgment? 154 What, will you not remember? 155 Or have ye a clear warrant? 156 Then bring your Book if you are truthful! 157 And they have claimed between Him and the jinn a lineage, but the jinn have already known that they [who made such claims] will be brought to [punishment]. 158 Glory be to God above that they describe, 159 all of them except the chosen servants of Allah. 160 for, verily, neither you [blasphemers] nor the objects of your worship 161 Can mislead anyone away from Him, 162 except for he who shall roast in Hell. 163 The angels say, "Each of us has an appointed place. 164 we are the rangers, 165 We glorify God." 166 And indeed, the disbelievers used to say, 167 "If we had had with us a Book like that of the people of old, 168 we would surely have been God's chosen servants," 169 But they disbelieved in it, so they are going to know. 170 And verily Our word went forth of old unto Our bondmen sent (to warn) 171 That they verily would be helped, 172 And surely, only Our army will be victorious. 173 Therefore turn away from them till a time, 174 See them and soon they shall see. 175 Our torment seek they to hasten on! 176 When it descends on their courtyards, how terrible that morning will be for those who were warned! 177 Withdraw from them awhile 178 And watch (how they fare) and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 179 Glorified be your Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they attribute unto Him! 180 And peace upon the messengers. 181 and all praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Universe. 182
God the Almighty always says the truth.
