Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]. 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 Nay, but man desires to continue on as a libertine, 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 With thy Sustainer, on that Day, the journey's end will be! 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 So, when We recite it, follow thou its recitation. 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 On that day, the herding will be only towards your Lord. 30
