The Moon (Al-Qamar)
55 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Comet (Al-Taareq) before S (Saad)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
The Hour has drawn nigh: the moon is split. 1 And if they see a miracle they turn aside and say: Transient magic. 2 They deny the truth and follow their own whims, every matter has its appointed time, 3 And certainly some narratives have come to them wherein is prevention-- 4 far-reaching wisdom [was held out to them]: but [since] all warnings have been of no avail, 5 Wherefore withdrew thou from them. The Day whereon the summoner will summon mankind unto a thing unpleasant. 6 their eyes will be humbled as they come out from their graves as if they were scattered locusts, 7 Racing ahead toward the Caller. The disbelievers will say, "This is a difficult Day." 8 ۞ The folk of Noah denied before them, yea, they denied Our slave and said: A madman; and he was repulsed. 9 so he cried out to his Lord, saying, "I am overcome, so help me!" 10 And We opened up the flood gates of the sky with water pouring down in torrents, 11 And We caused the earth to gush forth with springs. So the waters (of the heaven and the earth) met for a matter predestined. 12 And We bare him on a thing of planks and nails. 13 Which sailed right under Our eyes: A recompense for him who had been denied. 14 And certainly We left it as a sign, but is there anyone who 15 Then see how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings! 16 And assuredly We have made the Qur'an easy for admonition; is there then any one who would be admonished? 17 Aad too belied. How then were My punishment and My warnings! 18 We sent a tumultuous wind against them on a day of unremitting misfortune, 19 and snatched people up as though they were stumps of uprooted palmtrees. 20 How was then My punishment and My commination! 21 We have made it easy to learn lessons from the Quran: is there anyone who would receive admonition? 22

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
